A PUBLIC APOLOGY.
Fiona has asked me to make the following clear:
1. It was the directions on the packet that were at fault, not her.
2. She made a perfectly acceptable cous cous at the weekend.
3. She is not half as daft as she looks.

Groundnut stew. An African staple.


(Special dedication to Africa's favourite lovers, Nelson and Graca.)

Make a stew with:
Root vegetables (potatoes, carrots, swede, yams, sweetpotatoes
Onions, Garlic, Ginger (preferably pulped)
A few tomatoes
Vegetable stock cube
Chilli powder
Salt to taste.

Thicken with crunchy peanut butter.

Serve with rice or foo foo.

And watch you don’t step in any bwana on the way home.
