Flaming Pie - join our e-mail list

Flaming Pie started with a request from a friend for a recipe for something to go with couscous. For the last four years or so, an increasing membership has received recipes and rants from me by e-mail, whenever the spirit moves me. Now you can join in the "fun".

You won't be deluged. Furthermore, I will abide by the following rules:

I will not send material of a racist, sexist, heterosexist or pornographic nature.
I will not pass your contact details on to anyone outside the group (your e-mail address may be seen in the "to:" field by others, though.).
If you tell me to stop, I will remove your details from the distribution list just as soon as I am able.

I should warn you, however, that my views on matters political, social, cultural and religious may at times not be to everyone's taste. If you are, for example, a right-wing religious fundamentalist, I suggest that this is not for you 1.

So, If you want occasional nonsense in your e-mail, or if you have anything to enhance our lives, first read these rules, then send a wee note to ThePie@flamingpie.co.uk. As you will have gathered, this site is an amateurish shambles, and I haven't worked out how to set up an automated distribution list yet. If anyone can advise, please let me know.

Flaming Pie Membership Rules

It will make all our lives that little bit more pleasant if you abide by the following:

I'd like you to make a voluntary contribution to a charity of your choice. The amount is up to you. I'd prefer if it were a human charity rather than an animal one. My preferences are for charities promoting social and economic equality. See below for some suggestions.
If you send me anything sexist, racist or homophobic, I will come down on you like a ton of bricks.
Please try not to bother the other members. Leave the bothering to me. There have been some incidents where folk have foolishly clicked "Reply All" instead of "Reply." Please try not to.

1 If you must know, I'm a born-again atheist fundamentalist: Born again = I used to think there might be something in this religion thing in a non-commital way, but then In grew up and decided it was all crap. Atheist = belief in god is no more sensible than belief in fairies. Fundamentalist = I won't hear otherwise. I do not want to be converted. You do not need to save me. I am not interested.
